The japanese do indeed have a very unique perspective to life... but then again, when you think about it, each culture has their own view to life (although i personally prefer the japs' ^^)

perhaps that's why their manga is so much more 'better' than american ones... they incorporate their culture into it: e.g. samurai, food, festivals, etc. Whereas with the american ones, most of the ones i've read only revolve around fighting, relationship problems, and other insignificant stuff i don't remember...

in a way, to me, japanese manga is the equivalent to Hong Kong/Korean/some Japanese dramas... have you heard of/seen any? i prefer them more than i like watching US dramas because there's more to them. with stuff like Home and Away, or Neighbours...they're always about relationships, love, affairs, marriage, divorce...it gets very boring...

origami! yes yes! i've seen pictures of sculptures human-sized created from pieces of paper... its absolutely amazing...a very incredible invention... yes, yes...i'm quite good with origami! although i need fairly detailed instructions in order to make anything...the hardest one i've made, to date, would probably have to be a peacock made out of one A3 piece of paper. still have it! i'm very proud of it, although it's a bit tattered...^_^" lol...

interesting... so what, to you, is true manga? which manga,i mean?
yes, i totally know what you're talking about when you say 'crap'. no offense, but i think most of them are the american manga artists. not being racist or discriminate or anything, but after reading a couple of mangas by them, it kinda turned me off manga. the drawings are ridiculous - i could do better - and the story line is worse. no character is unique. they're all mumble jumble, if you know what i mean ^_^"... i know clamp is from america, but at least they're japanese manga artists who actually have the skill, potential and ability to, metaphorically speaking, turn these fictional characters to life!

to me, i think true manga is one that makes you feel like you're reading a novel and also like you're watching a movie.
